STOP posting "The Secrets of Making Money in the Stock Market" in online Film Groups

The time has come to put spammers and certain film groups on blast. I have joined a few film groups with the anticipation of getting news on screenings, film festivals and other fun information related to my field. However, some of these online film groups are being filled with spam. This is exactly why filmmakers and actors can be skeptical of joining online groups like Yahoo Groups, Google Groups, Myspace Groups or any other collective online community. This is beyond annoying as members endure a combined posting list of stock market tips, Sexual enhancement pills and other irrelevant services, products and information.

Stock market information has no place on a filmmaking message board. I am not interested in naming names, but this does not make filmmakers want to join online groups or even participate in forums, message boards or anything that is supposed to be focused on filmmaking news. When actors and filmmakers go to the current listings on a messageboard or group website, they are susually looking for information that can assist them with furthering their career OR supporting fellow members and other talent. It all comes down to the act of proper moderation, which seems to be lacking for some online film groups. I have a recommendation....GET IT TOGETHER! Or else, just close the friggin' group because no serious filmmaker or actor is going to be interested in The Secrets of Making Money in the Stock Market or anything of that nature.

If they were, they would have joined a Stock Market or Financial Group instead of your filmmaking group. If you need more assistance, try and implement the helpful tips in FREE Advice for Yahoo Group Moderators. It can be useful for ALL online groups and group moderators, not just Yahoo Group moderators.

Are you a member of an online group on Google, Myspace, Facebook, Blackplanet, Yahoo or another online community?
If so, tell us some stories about your experiences with Spam in the group by leaving your comments below.

The Web boosts Freelance Opportunities in the Entertainment Industry

Having been a freelancer for over 5 years now, I know that it is not easy to sustain on that type of income full-time. However, one can easily make a few hundred dollars by doing freelance jobs. It wasn't until this year that I started to pay more attention to the expanding opportunities offered in the freelance marketplace online. I have editied freelance projects that included Hollywood actor Will Smith on the Set of Bad Boys II, Weddings and other media related projects.

Some of those jobs paid little to nothing at all. While these jobs were obtained offline through networking, friends and colleagues, the online freelance marketplace is exciting. I know some women and men who have made over $1000 by doing freelance jobs that they obtained online. The amount that one is paid could be more or less depending on what the job is. This is not much different from freelance jobs that are done offline. I have worked on some video projects that brought in $400 while others paid $100.

Considering how competitive the entertainment industry is, freelance jobs obtained online can be very rewarding. Now, I have studied some of the areas that I work in such as art and video technology. That does not mean the online freelance marketplace is only rewarding for those who specialize in a given area. You do not have to have a degree to be able to take freelance jobs online. Most clients are only concerned with the quality of your work. That is what makes it even more worthwhile. There are lots of opportunities in the online freelance marketplace for men and women who are skilled in writing, art, digitla media, photogrpahy and more. The online marketplace makes it even easier for a freelancer to find more jobs. Now, it is up to us to go after those jobs and make some more money.

Grey's Anatomy TV Show goes Green with Plastic Bottles Banned on Set

The ABC TV show Grey's Anatomy has recently went green.

Those in charge of the hit show banned plastic bottles on the set of Grey's Anatomy. Everyone involved with the show is required to bring Thermos bottles to drink out of while working on the Grey's Anatomy set.

This is great news coming from the entertainment industry, as producers and others take more actions toward a healthier environment during production. These actions will help to prevent Water Pollution in our environment.

What do you think about the new requirements on the set of Grey's Anatomy?
