The Web boosts Freelance Opportunities in the Entertainment Industry

Having been a freelancer for over 5 years now, I know that it is not easy to sustain on that type of income full-time. However, one can easily make a few hundred dollars by doing freelance jobs. It wasn't until this year that I started to pay more attention to the expanding opportunities offered in the freelance marketplace online. I have editied freelance projects that included Hollywood actor Will Smith on the Set of Bad Boys II, Weddings and other media related projects.

Some of those jobs paid little to nothing at all. While these jobs were obtained offline through networking, friends and colleagues, the online freelance marketplace is exciting. I know some women and men who have made over $1000 by doing freelance jobs that they obtained online. The amount that one is paid could be more or less depending on what the job is. This is not much different from freelance jobs that are done offline. I have worked on some video projects that brought in $400 while others paid $100.

Considering how competitive the entertainment industry is, freelance jobs obtained online can be very rewarding. Now, I have studied some of the areas that I work in such as art and video technology. That does not mean the online freelance marketplace is only rewarding for those who specialize in a given area. You do not have to have a degree to be able to take freelance jobs online. Most clients are only concerned with the quality of your work. That is what makes it even more worthwhile. There are lots of opportunities in the online freelance marketplace for men and women who are skilled in writing, art, digitla media, photogrpahy and more. The online marketplace makes it even easier for a freelancer to find more jobs. Now, it is up to us to go after those jobs and make some more money.

Blog advertising Opportunities and more with Smorty

Every advertiser and blogger may not be familiar with Smorty. I am glad to have been able to read about this service on various blogs. Smorty brings advertisers and bloggers together while upholding a relationship that is beneficial to both parties. Using Smorty an advertiser, you can pay bloggers to write about your company and place links back to your website. As a blogger, you can get paid to blog about various websites and services. I read about Smorty a few times and must say that it lives up to just about everything mentioned among fellow bloggers regarding this service. How much you get paid to blog with Smorty is dependent upon a several factors that are analyzed before each given task.

This service provides a great opportunity for media companies to promote their products and events. Musicians and Independent filmmakers can use Smorty as an avenue for inexpensive advertising on blogs. Doing so will help to gain a wider audience since many blogs have their own group of frequent readers. The blog advertising opportunities do not stop at music, concerts or movies. Smorty provides almost anyone a chance to advertise on blogs whether you run a larger corporation or small business.

I especially like the fact that there are possibilities to get people talking about film festivals screenings without having a budget similar to many Hollywood studios. I can get more links and advertising for movies and events even on a small budget. That is only the advertising opportunity that Smorty provides. There are even more opportunities for me on the blogging side. One of the greatest aspects of Smorty is how it appears to advertisers and bloggers. The website layout and navigation system for users is very professional. This is refreshing, given that many websites tend to look amateurish or have too many graphics, bells and whistles. The latter gives off the impression that these websites are not the best servives to work with.

Smorty is a class act when it comes to usability. The service is neat and easy to understand. Smorty is also prompt when it comes to correspondence related advertising or blogging with the company. I anticipate an exciting future for Smorty and myself as I work with the service. It will assist me in my objective of creative fundraising for upcoming films and video projects.

Uptown Saturday Night is the Place to be in Florida

One of the greatest aspects of St. Augustine, Florida is all of the fun activities that are available. Uptown Saturday Night is a great event to visit and participate in for locals and tourists. Therefore, one does not have to be a resident of Florida to enjoy all that Uptown Saturday Night has to offer. That is one factor that makes this event very interesting. Uptown Saturday Night occurs at the end of the month from 5pm to 9pm. Since the holidays are coming up, I am excited about the St. Augustine shopping extravaganza.

Uptown Saturday Night features a blend of live music, book signings, art exhibits and more. There is also a chance to shop at nearby antique stores and other unique shops. This event is like a shopping spree and party all rolled into one. One of the best aspects that I like about Uptown Saturday Night is that visitors can enjoy FREE refreshments and live music while shopping in a fun atmoshphere. This takes a lot of frustation out of the typical shopping experience by adding more fun and relaxation to the mix. You can even meet the artists who have work displayed during Uptown Saturday Night. I also love the fact that there is FREE parking available thanks to The Mission of Nombre de Dios.

It is not always easy to find unique gifts for the Holidays. The shopping experience is tiresome, which is why Uptown Saturday Night is a great place to be. It provides the opportunity to find unique gifts that no one else has and enjoy yourself in the process. Since I like art and music, Uptown Saturday Night is definitely a must-see and must-visit event. I can enjoy the local activities and performances while shopping for special gifts for the Holidays. The added refreshments also means that I do not have to spend time searching for someting to eat. From a filmmaking perspective, Uptown Saturday Night is also a great event where one could make a cool video documentary about the local artists, visitors and history of the event.

Uptown Saturday Night was scheduled to take place Saturday, October 27th, which was yesterday. However, don't fret because Uptown Saturday Night takes place on the last Saturday of each month for the rest of the year!

The website for Uptown Saturday Night lists upcoming dates where you can enjoy this fun event.

The Dates are:
Saturday, November 24, 2007 and Saturday, December 29, 2007.

Admission is FREE, Refreshments are FREE and Parking is FREE
