Monday Movie Meme: Sniper on the Roof

For some odd reason, I’m in a sniper kind of mood, which resulted in the theme for this week’s Monday Movie Meme being all about hitmen: Sniper on the Roof.

Share on your blog or in the comments section, movies featuring assassins. I’m talking about professional contract killers.

Here are my selections for this week’s Sniper on the Roof theme.

The Mechanic

A hitman teaches his mentor’s son the tools of the trade while they plan to get revenge in this action thriller starring Jason Statham, Donald Sutherland, Ben Foster and Tony Goldwyn.

Looper

An assassin for the mob is forced to go head to head with his future self in this Sci-Fi Crime movie starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.

Colombiana

A woman works as an assassin for her uncle while using her spare time to hunt the person responsible for her parents’ murder in this crime drama starring Zoe Saldana, Michael Vartan and Jordi Mollà.

Traitor

The hunt is on for a suspected terrorist in this spy thriller starring Don Cheadle, Archie Panjabi and Guy Pearce.

The Terminator

A killing machine is sent from the future to eliminate humanity in this Sci-Fi classic starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn. Can’t get any better than the Arnold!

What movies have YOU watched that feature hitmen?

The Kill Bill peeps were contract killers, even if one turned mommy, the other turned trailer park chiller and the other a mob bossina with her own crazy 88's lol!

Electra, starring, was that Jennifer Garner? Hired contractor who couldn't complete the job because she ended up wanting to protect the target or something like that. Been a long while since I saw that one.

Does Dirty Hairy count? He's one of my all-time favorites.

Hi, Nicole. I've seen The Terminator.

I'm stopping by to say hello pre A to Z Challenge. It's going to be great.

Angela,
Excellent choice with Kill Bill! You know, I still have to watch the first one 'cause I haven't seen it in its entirety, unfortunately. I loved the second one though. Those are some badass Tarantino movies! Yes that was Jennifer Garner in Electra. While I remember the movie existing, I never saw it. Your picks for this week's meme are to die for!

MJ,
Hmmm I don't know...you tell me. The only thing I know about Dirty Harry is that it's a famous Clint Eastwood flick. I never saw it. If there are assassins in the film, it counts :)

Dale,
Ahhh I like your thinking with Nikita. Great choice! Now you know Leon is too easy of a selection, lol. I'll have to check out Gross Point Blank. The name sounds, um, interesting to say the least, lol.

Susanne,
The Terminator has some of the most relentless hitmen in a movie. Thanks for stopping by. I like your "Sidekick" title.
