Monday Movie Meme – Talking Toys

Today, the Monday Movie Meme is back with a theme that you could ask your children for help with, if needed. Share on your blog or in the comments section, movies featuring talking toys.

Here are my selections for this week’s Monday Movie Meme.

Child’s Play

A Good-Guy doll named Chucky not only talks, he’s also sarcastic; like a bad ass kid who needs more than a time-out to get his act together, in this horror thriller film starring Catherine Hicks.

Toy Story

All sorts of toys including dolls, action figures and stuffed animals talk to each other in hopes of devising a plan to not get left behind in this animated film starring Tim Allen and Tom Hanks.

What movies have YOU watched that feature talking toys?

One more that I've been waiting to finally show up on blu-ray is Small Soldiers. This was one of those funky 80's movies that I enjoyed as a kid. Also on that list of wants is the movie The Indian In The Cupboard. Those were some fun flicks back in the day! Heh...

One movie that comes to mind is one that I would not let my kiddo watch lol!

Ted - that talking teddy bear movie was funny but in a grown up kind of way.

I know I've seen movies with talking toys, but I can't remember any others that those that have been mentioned. Pinocchio maybe?

This is a tough one.

Herman,
You sure know how to pick 'em. It's been a while since I watched "Small Soldiers" but it was always a cool movie and man, you took me way back with "The Indian In The Cupboard." Talk about a blast from the past! Fun flicks indeed. Thanks for playing along this week, adding some goodies that I surely wouldn't have thought of and am glad that you did :)

Angela,
OMG "Ted" is a great selection for this week's talking toys meme! I still haven't seen it and wonder if it's still sitting in my Netflix queue somewhere but when I went to do some interviews for a Tyler Perry movie, some of the employees at the movie theater were boasting about "Ted" saying they highly recommend it to watch. And yet, to this day, I am still behind on that particular flick. From what I've watched in the clips, I reckon that you made an understandable move in keeping this adult themed teddy bear movie away from the kiddo ;)

Arlee,
Although I don't recall ever having watched those movies, my familiarity with the story has me thinking that yes, Pinocchio counts! After all, he is a puppet. I'm totally on board with your, Angela's and Herman's picks this week. You guys (and gal) have highlighted some of the most fitting movies for the talking toys theme. Thanks for playing with us!
